feat:Redesign Navbar with Dropdown Menus for Better Navigation & Responsiveness
What feature would you like to see added to viswam.ai?
I would like to propose a redesign of the current navbar to improve usability, structure, and visual clarity.
At present, the navbar contains too many items in a single row (e.g., About, Projects, Collaborations, Roadmap, Structure, News, Events), making it appear cluttered and difficult to navigate.
The feature involves grouping related navigation items into dropdown menus and restructuring the layout for a cleaner and more scalable design.
Proposed structure:
About Overview Structure Roadmap Work / Projects Projects Collaborations Community / Updates In the News Events AI Hackdays Programs Summer of AI Contact (standalone)
Why is this feature important or useful?
Improves navigation clarity by grouping related items Reduces visual clutter in the navbar Enhances user experience and accessibility Makes the design scalable for future additions Ensures better responsiveness across devices Establishes a clear visual hierarchy between primary and secondary items
Any suggestions for how it could work or look?
Add dropdown menus with hover (desktop) and click (mobile) support Use bold styling for main menu items and lighter styling for dropdown items Increase spacing between top-level items for better readability Add hover effects (underline or color transition) Include a subtle shadow or border for navbar separation Implement smooth dropdown animations
Responsive behavior:
Convert navbar into a hamburger menu on mobile Dropdowns should become collapsible sections Prevent overflow and wrapping issues
Optional enhancements:
Sticky navbar on scroll Active page highlighting (e.g., current section highlighted) Reusable dropdown component for maintainability
Additional context or notes
Changes should be limited to navbar-related components only Follow existing styling system (Tailwind / CSS modules) Avoid breaking existing navigation links Focus on clean, minimal, and consistent design with the rest of the site
